The longest sandy beach in Sardinia, and Blue Flag awarded! The beach that you can see from the terraces of Beach Base apartments happens to be the longest sandy beach in Sardinia, of which two main parts of it are blue Blue Flag awarded.
Badesi & Valedoria Beach Strip
It stretches from the initially rocky coast in La Caccia to the charming fishing village of Isola Rossa, about 12 km away. On clear days – when looking to the right – you can see snowy peaks of Corsican mountains. Let me tell you why this beautiful sand strip is so unique that we decided to locate our Beach Base apartments in the area.
The beach has several entrances in its different parts that can satisfy various needs of our guests. I will describe some of them and let you explore the others on your own!
Spiaggia San Pietro a Mare
A wide beach with a restaurant Blu Beach and a beach bar L’Onda (just try their Mojito!). In the latter one in the afternoons there is often live music, DJ’s party or you can watch a football game (especially worth it when the Italian team plays!). It is a lively and vibrant spot.
While facing the sea, turn right to reach the lagoon of Coghinas river (La Foce del Coghinas), where two kite surf schools are located. It’s a perfect spot to learn how to kite surf, as you often get sea winds yet on a safe haven of the river lagoon. It’s a truly unique spot.
The lagoon is also quite shallow and the water gets warm early (Coghinas river is also well-known thanks to its positive health effect hot spring and a dedicated SPA in Santa Maria Coghinas – 10 minutes from Beach Base apartments) therefore it’s a perfect place for paddle boards enthusiasts. San Pietro a Mare is a Blue Flag awarded beach.

Spiaggia San Pietro a Mare is also a convenient spot to visit if you plan to make some grocery shopping on your way back or plan to visit Valledoria. It offers plenty of parking spaces located just next to the beach.

Spiaggia della Baia delle Mimose
To get to Spiaggia della Baia delle Mimose park near the entrance to Calypso Lounge Beach Bar and have a 2min walk on the footbridge surrounded by juniper bushes to get to the beach. Be cautious, you can meet a turtle there!
It is a beautiful part of the beach, with sun beds and water equipment rental point open in the summer months. During the day you can have a delicious lunch or a drink in the Calypso bar. In the evening, Calypso transforms into an elegant space where you can sip champagne and party to a live DJ’s sets. Pst, one of the most recognized Sardinian DJ’s lives in Muntiggioni and happens to perform in Calypso on regular basis. Definitely worth a visit!

Spiaggia Poltu Biancu
My favourite beach in the area. A nice, clean and wide sandy beach with almost no people even in the high season. We love to go there with our kids and paddle boards. It is also the perfect place for practising yoga, reading books or just having some me time. If you prefer quiet places without crowds then Spiaggia Poltu Biancu is the beach you should explore. It is surrounded by natural vegetation, which is truly exceptional in this part of Sardinia island!
In high season local residents like to visit Poltu Biancu during the weekends, but have a few minutes walk along the shore in any direction and you will enjoy your own private beach. From here you can also see Beach Base apartments.
Extra feature – when leaving the main road on your way to/from the beach you will pass Li Duni – one of the most recognized wineries in the Gallura region. Try their exquisite Vermentino di Sardegna Spumante Millesimato or make an appointment for a wine tasting in the sunset hours.
Convenient parking and a basic food truck at the beach entrance are available.

Spiaggia Li Junchi di Badesi
Li Junchi is the closest beach to reach from the apartments. Located just outside the Badesi centre, you can even get there by bus from Muntiggioni.
There is a beach bar with drinks, snacks and basic lunch offer and sun bed rental and a nice Oasis Lounge Beach Restaurant (try their tuna tartare!). There is also a tourist information point and a free, self-service library where you can take a book for your beach time.
In the high season the beach is usually quite popular, but a few minutes walk from the beach entrance will lead you to areas where you can enjoy privacy.Same as Spiaggia San Pietro a Mare, Li Junchi is one of only 40 beaches in Sardinia with the Blue Flag award, that rewards the quality of water, environmental sustainability and the enhancement of natural areas.
